what is INSTANCE

This collection is a series of isolated instances. While each is individual, together they produce a single whole.

These instances are personal, ambiguous, and possibly non-specific to the viewer. The result affords a unique experience for those open to receiving it. The process is self-informed, always evolving. The development of each instance is a back and forth between the visual and physical.

Materiality consists of the pursuit to capture visual light in garment. Explored through countless experiments and interactions with light and color. New making processes and materials were constantly used, and many carried into the final outcomes. The collection born out of a love for film and cinematography.

Concept development began digitally through continuous experimenting with the creation of short films. These films relied on the interaction between clips to produce color, shape, and emotion. This process continued into the final concept which led to the creation of experience based instances.
